No joy there for Nunes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Asakura is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. A punch combination from Nunes misses. Asakura takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Nunes throws a head kick that Asakura semi-blocks.
Asakura tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nunes paws at him with a jab and circles away. Asakura takes one on the button.#ROC#Asakura is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nunes fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Asakura looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Asakura looks winded! Nunes lands a front kick. Nunes feints a jab and as Asakura dips his head, Nunes unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Asakura right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Asakura falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Nunes smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.

and Banton counters with a three punch combo that has Asakura backing up. Asakura nods at Banton to acknowledge the strikes. Asakura looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Banton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
#ROC#Asakura is rocked! Banton lands with a big left! Asakura is wobbled badly! Banton comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Asakura to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

After the fight, Jimmy Banton was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. Asakura wants to clinch. Jab by Churchill. We've been told by Asakura's head coaches at Xtreme Fighting Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. #R1# Asakura throws a body shot but no joy. It looked like Banton was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Banton avoids the body shot from Asakura.

and Banton counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Banton plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Banton uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Asakura.
Banton lands with an uppercut that bounces Asakura off the cage and back into range. Asakura catches Banton with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!#CL2# Asakura moves into range and clinches up with Banton. Banton tries for a takedown but Asakura manages to get underhooks.

#R1# Asakura scores with a one two! Boone had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Boone shoots in looking for a takedown but Asakura manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boone's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Boone throws a sloppy head kick and Asakura counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Boone showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Asakura.

Boone throws the kick towards the body but Asakura avoids it. Asakura changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.#TD2# Boone drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee asks Boone politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Boone prefers to stall for the moment though. It looks like Boone might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1# Boone gets to mount! Asakura was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Boone takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Asakura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Boone on the ground. Kai Asakura is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Asakura lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
