#R1# Mandell stalks Picardal and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Picardal's face. Picardal staggers backwards, shaken. Picardal connects with an inside leg kick. Picardal fails with a takedown attempt.#CL2# Picardal rushes Mandell and presses him up against the cage.#TD2# Picardal has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Mandell uses from the top position. Mandell is looking to stand up but Picardal won't let him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Picardal is pulling down on Mandell's head. It's preventing any offense from Mandell, at least for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mandell wants to stand but Picardal has a closed guard, so he can't escape. #T1# Picardal seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Mandell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Picardal swats him away and circles back towards the center. A chopping leg kick lands by Mandell. Mandell throws the kick towards the body but Picardal avoids it. Picardal tries to score with a low kick but Mandell moves his leg out of the way. Mandell misses with a double jab.
#CL2# Picardal clinches. The crowd are loving this. Great action here.#TD2# Picardal decides to pull guard. Picardal is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Mandell has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Picardal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB##T3# Picardal thows a huge punch but Mandell dodges it nicely.

That's going to take a lot out of Cian Picardal.#T4# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Picardal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A nice inside leg kick there by Mandell. That's going to slow Picardal down. Picardal throws a head kick that half lands.

Picardal on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Picardal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mandell defends well and Picardal ends up having to push Mandell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Picardal is breathing heavily. Picardal takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Mandell looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Mandell fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Mandell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mandell displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Picardal. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Cian Picardal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Mandell's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!#R3# Picardal throws a sloppy head kick and Mandell moves out of range easily. Mandell with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Chuck Mandell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cian Picardal is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mandell is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mandell looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Nice shot by Mandell. Mandell throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A nice leg kick from Mandell, right into the meat of the thigh.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kvaratskhelia or perhaps it was just good defense by Mandell, which made it look bad. Kvaratskhelia throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mandell's waist but Mandell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kvaratskhelia off to one side. Mandell ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kvaratskhelia fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mandell avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Zurab Kvaratskhelia. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mandell throws a series of punches but Kvaratskhelia moves out of range. Zurab Kvaratskhelia decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. Godson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.#SUB2# Mandell tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. #SU2# Mandell decides to stand back up. #TD2# Mandell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Mandell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Godson is trying to escape the position but Mandell is controlling the position. Mandell lands a decent elbow from side control. #SUB2# Godson wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Mandell has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Godson's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Godson is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Mandell!
