#R1##TD2# Volkov closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Volkov lands in his opponent's guard. Volkov postures up and lands a big shot to Day's brow. Volkov throwing strikes from guard but Day blocks nicely. Volkov in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Day on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Day tries to get out of the position. Day avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Volkov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Volkov throwing strikes from guard but Day blocks nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Volkov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Volkov gets to his feet and stands over Day, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Day felt that one! Volkov unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Day from any more punishment!

#R1##TD# Day manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Volkov on his heels. He'll look to pass Volkov's guard now, I'm sure. Day trying to control but Volkov is working from the bottom. Day wants to pass the guard but Volkov is keeping the position. Volkov wants to sweep but no luck. Volkov controlling Day's posture. #SUB# Day thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Volkov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Day is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Volkov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Day manages to get himself to full guard.
#REVB# Volkov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Day. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Volkov controlling from the top position. Volkov throws a big right hand that misses. #T1# Day wants to stand and escape but Volkov is having none of it. Day has momentary wrist control but Volkov slips an elbow through the middle. Volkov postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Volkov is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. #CUT2#It looks like Charlie Day has been cut. Volkov looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Day trying to keep a closed guard but Volkov is proving a slippery customer.
