Aliev is pressing down on Ankalaev's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ankalaev throwing strikes but missing. Aliev looking for a sweep. Not yet Aliev, not yet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ankalaev wants to pass the guard but Aliev is keeping the position. Aliev looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ankalaev is one step ahead there. #T1# Ankalaev pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aliev is keeping the position for now. Ankalaev looking to sit in guard and control but Aliev gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Ankalaev is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Aliev stands and throws Ankalaev's legs to the side, diving into side control. #SUB# Aliev has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ankalaev is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Aliev yanks on the arm and Ankalaev is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission!
