You can see the frustration on Blake's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Blake is looking to work his way out of this bad position but John is controlling him well. Blake manages to work his way to half guard, despite John's best efforts.#SUB# Blake actively working from the bottom here. Blake is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blake wants to control but John is keeping busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blake keeping hold of John's head, controlling as best he can. #T1# Blake's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Blake moves into full guard.

John tries to bench press Gholizadeh off him but Gholizadeh keeps the position. Gholizadeh throwing strikes but John manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! #SU# John stands up. John displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gholizadeh moves out of range as John strikes. John shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gholizadeh as he avoids it easily. John throws a series of punches but Gholizadeh moves out of range. John looks to land a combination but Gholizadeh avoids it well. John staying out of range there. Gholizadeh misses the jab. John swings widly with a right hand
#TD2# and Gholizadeh counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. #T1# John controls Gholizadeh momentarily but Gholizadeh frees himself. Gholizadeh really doesn't want to stay on the ground with John. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. John utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. John working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gholizadeh. Gholizadeh trying to control but John is working from the bottom. #SUB# Gholizadeh is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but John has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Gholizadeh is looking to defend but John has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Gholizadeh! John pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Gholizadeh taps out and this one is all over!

#R1# John leaves Wood with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. John takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts John, as that shot connected.
John uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. A nice combination there by John.
John throws a right and a left that Wood avoids nicely. Wood tries to counter with a takedown but John is quick to defend against it.#TD2# John bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wood manages to work his way to half guard, despite John's best efforts.#SUB# Wood actively working from the bottom here. Wood gets full guard. John wants to control from the top but Wood keeps moving. #SUB# Wood has his feet on John's thighs here. He's pushed John off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! John screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

John pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Roberson back to the cage. John follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.#CUT2#It looks like Jan Roberson has been cut. John lands with a cross. #TD2# John decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Roberson manages to get to full guard.
#SUB# Roberson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but John frees his head nicely. Oh but Roberson has switched to an armbar! John is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Yurchon scoring with punches to the head and body. Yurchon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Yurchon is looking to work some ground and pound but John has wrist control. Yurchon postures up.
Yurchon scores with a decent looking elbow strike. John is trying to control the position but Yurchon postures up. Yurchon stands up over John, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. John bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Yurchon's guard. #REVB# The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Yurchon is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst John is controlling him. John wants to control from the top but Yurchon keeps moving. Yurchon wants to get back to his feet but John is in a dominant position and won't allow it. #T1# John controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. John trying to control the position from guard on top but Yurchon is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Poohammer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Poohammer shoots in but no luck this time. John scores with a nice strike. Poohammer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by John. Sloppy strikes from John. Those never looked like landing. Poohammer is on the wrong end of a nice combination from John. Poohammer looks winded! John scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. The fighters circle momentarily. John darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.#ROC#Poohammer is rocked!#KD# John lands a big right hand that sends Poohammer crashing to the mat! John stays standing though and waves Poohammer back to his feet! Poohammer is still on wobbly legs! Can John finish him? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. John connects with a stiff jab that staggers Poohammer - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

John wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Ward manages to pass to side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#REVR# Ward seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. John trying to control here.

Souza lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. #T1# Souza looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. It looks like Souza might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. John trying to get back to full guard but Souza takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! John working to try and regain half guard.

We've been told by John's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. John blocks a head kick by Rocha.
Rocha avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
John lands a two punch combo.
John shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Rocha eats them both and turns towards John to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Rocha closes this distance looking for a takedown but John circles away. John throws a big counter combination but Rocha scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Rocha misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Prison John has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Rocha. John scores with a nice right hand.

Rynkowski cracks John with a nice body shot. A quick uppercut on the inside from Rynkowski. Rynkowski lands a body shot. Rynkowski lands a nice uppercut.#KD2# Rynkowski drops John onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! John is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!#ROC2#John is rocked!
