The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.#TD2# Mann gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mann seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Mann seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 1 losses; Lyric Mann! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Dobbie has a takedown stuffed.#TD# Dobbie is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Mann's half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Dobbie (2) vs (0) Mann The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dobbie wants to take a breather but Mann is having none of it. Mann is pressing down on Dobbie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Mann pulls Dobbie in close to his closed guard and prevents Dobbie from doing any damage or advancing position. Dobbie is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Mann has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Robinho Junior! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Lyric Mann! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Junior stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Junior wants it to stay on the feet. Mann misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Junior appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Mann shoots in for a takedown but Junior shows good takedown defense. Junior half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Robinho Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lyric Mann. Mann tries for a takedown but Junior sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. No luck for Mann with that takedown attempt. Mann tries to score a power double leg takedown but Junior sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mann somewhat. Junior drops down looking for a counter takedown but Mann sprawls and moves away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mann shoots in looking for a takedown.
