#R1# Ramirez closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. #CL# Ramirez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Aki, pushing him back against the cage. Aki is stalling here.
Ramirez tries to pull guard but Aki won't allow it.

Aki content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Ramirez blocks a body shot from Aki. A right handed body shot lands from Aki.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ramirez tries to pull guard but Aki forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Aki is looking to control Ramirez's arms but Ramirez gets an underhook and turns him. Now Aki has his back to the cage. Ramirez is trying to push Aki away but Aki has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Aki misses with the head strike.
Aki gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ramirez.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warren Ramirez. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# Aki misses with a punch to the body.

Ramirez definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Both guys are working to get underhooks. A head punch on the inside from Aki fails to land. Aki tries to stall but Ramirez uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

#R1# A jab from Aki misses. Ragnarsson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Ragnarsson lands a nice shot to the body.
Aki takes one to the side of the head.
Ragnarsson throws a nice looking combination but Aki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Ragnarsson swings for the body but Aki moves out of range.
Aki looks like he wants to counter punch here. Ragnarsson scores with a decent looking hook. Ragnarsson lands a head shot. Ragnarsson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Aki keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Jab, jab by Ragnarsson - just one landing. #CL# Ragnarsson takes the fight into the clinch. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ragnarsson scores with a shoulder strike. I was talking to Ragnarsson's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Still in the clinch, Ragnarsson scores with a nice short uppercut. Ragnarsson makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Aki should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Aki trying to stall but Ragnarsson improves his position.

Aki is still on wobbly legs! Can Ragnarsson finish him? A right hook to the body lands for Ragnarsson.

Aki is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!#T2# Ragnarsson unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Aki! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Ragnarsson is unloading with more strikes now! Aki drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hastein Ragnarsson! Hastein Ragnarsson tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool. |

#R1# A solid leg kick lands there for DaGod.
DaGod is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aki. Aki looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. A leg kick checked by Aki. DaGod fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Aki has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. DaGod thows a leg kick but Aki checks it and Aki counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Some bone on bone action there as Aki checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. Aki chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before DaGod can pounce on him.
Aki stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from DaGod. Kratos DaGod seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. DaGod throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. DaGod walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. A leg kick checked by Aki. Aki looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Aki changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. DaGod throws a leg kick and Aki counters with a lovely shot to the body. This has been an exciting period of action! Aki checks a low kick from DaGod. Aki looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. DaGod thows a leg kick but Aki checks it and Aki counters with a lovely straight right hand!#CUT2#It looks like Kratos DaGod has been cut. Aki takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.#ROC2#DaGod is rocked!#T1# DaGod misses with a wild body shot. DaGod misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A low kick from DaGod is predictable there and Aki counters with a big right hook, that lands right on the temple! DaGod goes down! Aki rushes to a neutral corner to get the count going quickly. This one's going to be close! 3,4,5,6,7... DaGod is up to one knee.... 8,9....10! He didn't make it! This fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Purple Aki! After winning the bout, Purple Aki thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility. |
