Kings darts in looking for a takedown but Shannon gets double underhooks and turns Kings into the cage. #TD2# Kings looking to score a takedown here. Shannon is defending well but Kings drives through and ends up in Shannon's guard. Kings stops Shannon from standing up. Kings is looking to work some ground and pound but Shannon has wrist control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kings controls from within his opponent's guard. Kings throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kings trying to control but Shannon is working from the bottom. Kings uses his free foot to push down on Shannon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shannon. Shannon manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Kings will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shannon scores with a hook. Kings shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shannon as he avoids it easily. Kings looks for a takedown but Shannon sprawls well. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shannon, as that shot connected.
Shannon doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kings counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Shannon is lucky that one didn't land flush. #T3##TD2# Kings closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. No, Shannon has managed to free his arm - good work. Shannon pushes Kings off looking to stand but Kings dives back in and keeps control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kings shoots in for a takedown but Shannon shows good takedown defense. Kings keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Shannon displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Mendoza. Shannon throwing a counter right hand but Mendoza manages to avoid it.#TD# Shannon shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Shannon passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Mendoza! Shannon has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mendoza's face.

and Shannon counters with a straight right hand. Mullins moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Shannon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mullins sprawls well. Mullins wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shannon gets slowly back to his feet. Shannon tries for a takedown but Mullins circles away easily#CL# and Mullins counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Mullins. Shannon is pressed up against the cage. Mullins has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Shannon down to the mat. Shannon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Shannon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Dick Twist stuns Shannon with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Dick Twist. Shannon does a little dance to reset his feet.
