Plumson wants to clinch.#CL# Spagnolo moves into the clinch. Plumson's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Spagnolo lands a body shot. Spagnolo stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body. Spagnolo scores with a shoulder strike. A short left from Spagnolo. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Plumson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Spagnolo fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's going to take a lot out of Jermaine Plumson. Plumson throws a hook to the side of Spagnolo's head but Spagnolo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Spagnolo lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Plumson backwards. Spagnolo lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Spagnolo working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Plumson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. I was talking to Spagnolo's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Spagnolo scores with a nice hook to the head. Plumson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Plumson has had enough of the clinch but Spagnolo keeps him there for the moment. Plumson is trying to push Spagnolo away but Spagnolo has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Spagnolo lands a body punch. A short right from Spagnolo. Plumson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Spagnolo is defending well for now. Plumson is pressed up against the cage. Spagnolo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Plumson down to the mat. Plumson avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Spagnolo connects with a good right hand that stumbles Plumson. Plumson circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Spagnolo scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Spagnolo sizes up Plumson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Spagnolo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spagnolo wants it to stay on the feet. Spagnolo throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
#T3# Plumson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Spagnolo sprawls well. Spagnolo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Plumson gets slowly back to his feet. Plumson looks winded! Nice body punch from Spagnolo. Good standup being displayed there by Spagnolo as he connects with a hook. A solid leg kick lands there for Spagnolo.
Plumson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Plumson on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Spagnolo catches Plumson with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Plumson is looking to land body kicks. Plumson wants to clinch up but Spagnolo keeps it at a distance. Spagnolo stalks Plumson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Plumson's face. Plumson staggers backwards, shaken.#T4# Plumson throws a wild hook but Spagnolo just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Plumson gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Spagnolo raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

#R1# Plumson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pereira but Pereira pushes him off and we're back to square one.#TD2# Pereira shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Plumson napping and manages to drive through into side control!#SUB2# Pereira tries for a kimura but Plumson is defending well. Plumson tries to bench press Pereira off him but Pereira keeps the position. #SUB2# Pereira tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Pereira has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Plumson wants to control but Pereira postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Plumson is looking to regain half guard here but Pereira keeps moving and retains side control. You can see the frustration on Plumson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.#SUB2# Pereira is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Plumson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. #T1##SUB2# Pereira is trying to get an arm triangle but Plumson is defending well. #SUB2# Pereira has hold of Plumson's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Plumson tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Pereira cranks the arm and Plumson screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Plumson, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

#R1# Plumson walks into a jab.#CUT2#It looks like Jermaine Plumson has been cut. Shioda lands a body shot.
Plumson doesn't succeed with the takedown and Shioda counters with a left to the body. #KD2# Shioda feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Plumson sprawling to the canvas! Plumson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Shioda finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Shioda drops Plumson with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Plumson! Shioda dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
