#R1# Perez lands a lovely overhand right.#CL# Perez instigates a clinch. Gomez is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Perez is defending well. A bit of stalling here from Gomez.
Gomez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Perez smiles and moves away.
#TD2# Gomez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Perez's guard. Gomez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Perez wants to sweep here but Gomez controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gomez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. It looks like Gomez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.#T1# Gomez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Gomez is pushing down on Perez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Perez is fighting to maintain full guard but Gomez has managed to sneak the leg through. Gomez blocks the strikes from Perez.
Gomez throwing shots but Perez is blocking nicely. Perez keeping control of the position. Perez wants to get back to his feet.
#T2# The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gomez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Perez is desperately trying to improve his position but Gomez has a good base and remains in mount. Perez reaches up to try and control the position but Gomez seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Perez rolls and tries to escape and now Gomez has his back!
Perez covering up well and avoiding damage. Gomez thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent. Gomez somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back. #T3# Gomez trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Perez doesn't escape. Perez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gomez on the ground. Gomez is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Perez. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.#SUB2# Gomez looking to break Perez's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Perez remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Gomez will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! A lull in the action here.
Gomez keeps control of the position easily here as Perez tries to buck him off.
Gomez tries to get the hooks in deep but Perez pushed the leg off. #T4# Gomez is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Perez looking very determined here, making life difficult for Gomez.
#SUB2# Gomez has his arm under Perez's chin here. Game over son! Gomez squeezes tightly and Perez is forced to tap out!
