#R1##TD2# Afzal throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Gracie was covering up waiting for the punch and Afzal finishes the takedown easily into guard. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#SUB2# Afzal is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Afzal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've been hearing good reports from Gracie's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Gracie pulls Afzal in close to his closed guard and prevents Afzal from doing any damage or advancing position. Afzal trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Afzal has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Hilo. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Afzal is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
