We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Puapua in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Maia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sutton pinned against the cage. Sutton gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sutton throws a counter high kick but Maia was just alert enough to avoid it.
Maia gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Sutton counters with a straight right hand.
Maia takes a swing at Sutton's ribcage but misses.
Sutton stalks Maia and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Maia's face. Maia staggers backwards, shaken.
A punch lands to the side of Maia 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Slade Sutton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruno Maia.
