#R1# Gillespie shoots in looking for a takedown but Kolyok manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gillespie's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Kolyok throws a nice inside leg kick. Good shot there by Kolyok. Gillespie scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Kolyok throws a body punch but Gillespie moves out of range. Gillespie lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Gillespie lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kolyok circles away quickly and effectively. Kolyok explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work. Gillespie shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kolyok as he avoids it easily. Good exchange - Kolyok coming out on top. Lokoto Kolyok seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kolyok lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A combination from Gillespie does no damage. It looked like Kolyok wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Kolyok scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Gillespie doesn't seem bothered though. Gillespie on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.#T1# Gillespie misses with a takedown attempt - Kolyok sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Lokoto Kolyok has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alvaro Gillespie. Gillespie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Kolyok lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gillespie's sensitive parts. Kolyok fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Gillespie has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kolyok connects with a solid leg kick. Gillespie shoots in but Kolyok avoids the takedown attempt easily. Gillespie tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kolyok defends well and Gillespie ends up having to push Kolyok into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Kolyok connects with a solid leg kick. Kolyok throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. #CL# Kolyok moves into the clinch successfully.
#T2# Kolyok lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. A short right from Kolyok on the inside. Nice body punch from Kolyok. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kolyok lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Gillespie backwards. Kolyok pushes Gillespie back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Kolyok is working Gillespie over against the cage. Gillespie looks winded! Kolyok throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gillespies head. Kolyok lands with a short head shot on the inside. Kolyok definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gillespie tries to circle away but Kolyok has him pinned against the cage. Gillespie takes a shot to the head. Kolyok throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Gillespies head. #ROC#Gillespie is rocked! Good body shot from Kolyok.
Gillespie is still on wobbly legs! Can Kolyok finish him? Kolyok works on Gillespie's body with a couple of short punches. Kolyok lands on the inside with an uppercut. Kolyok lands a body punch in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kolyok creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Kolyok makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Kolyok pushes Gillespie against the cage. Kolyok is working some dirty boxing. Kolyok pushes off with a quick right hook! Gillespie goes down! Gillespie tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Kolyok moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lokoto Kolyok! In his post fight interview, Lokoto Kolyok started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. |

#R1# Gillespie shoots in looking for a takedown. Mann tries to sprawl out of it but Gillespie keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mann manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. #CL# Mann darts in and clinches Gillespie up against the cage. Mann working some nice short punches in the clinch. Mann lands with a short head shot on the inside. #TD2# Gillespie jumps guard and drags Mann to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Gillespie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mann is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mann looking to pass the guard. #T1# Gillespie is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Mann stopping the sweep attempt from Gillespie. Gillespie trying to strike off his back.
#SUB2# Mann content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Gillespie has locked up a guillotine! Gillespie's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Mann is holding on here and Gillespie must be using up a lot of energy. Mann has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Gillespie gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

After the fight, Alvaro Gillespie was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. |
