#R1# MacDonald shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kamatis as he avoids it easily. MacDonald will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kamatis was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Kamatis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Kamatis avoids the head kick by MacDonald.
Kamatis throws a body punch but MacDonald moves out of range. MacDonald tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kamatis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten MacDonald somewhat. MacDonald wants to clinch up but Kamatis keeps it at a distance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fight stays on the outside here - Kamatis looks like he's thinking about clinching though. MacDonald misses with a series of wild punches.
Kamatis cracks MacDonald with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.#T1##TD# Kamatis looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Kamatis wants to get up but he can't break MacDonald's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now MacDonald is on top in guard.
#REVB##SUB2# MacDonald drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. MacDonald seems to have locked his on tight now - Kamatis screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for MacDonald, as he picks up the win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Justin MacDonald! |
