Kornilov fails with a takedown attempt.
Kornilov throws a looping overhand right but Basketball ducks down to avoid it.
Basketball shapes to counter with a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Kornilov.
Kornilov shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Basketball finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ruslan Kornilov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Basketball changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kornilov tries to avoid it but Basketball manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kornilov to the ground. Kornilov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kornilov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Basketball looks a forlorn figure.

Ruslan Kornilov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Costa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kornilov sprawls well initially but Costa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Costa cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Costa loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Kornilov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Costa land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Costa stands and salutes the crowd.
