Hogg remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Hogg tries to advance to mount but can't. #T2# The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hogg in side control, just content to control the action for now. Guy is refusing to be controlled, as Plouffe sits in half guard. Guy has his hands clasped together around Plouffe's back. He's all about the action. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Plouffe is controlling the pace.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.#T1# Plouffe throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. #REF3# The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Plouffe just misses with a punch to the body.

That was a close second round but I would say that Buddy Guy will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Weston throws out a loose jab but Guy uses good head movement to avoid it. Guy with the counter takedown but Weston avoids it easily. Guy takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Guy moves away from the strike by Weston. Guy is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Weston waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Guy. Guy ducks under a wild hook from Weston. Guy with the counter takedown but Weston avoids it easily. Weston misses the shot to the body. Weston takes a swing at Guy's ribcage but misses. Guy drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Weston defends it well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Weston lands a body shot.

Guy complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Matt Weston decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world.
