The crowd cheers as Rothstein lands an impressive looking overhand right. Vasara doesn't seem phased though.#CUT# It looks like Sami Vasara has been cut. Rothstein lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. We've been hearing reports that Rothstein has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Vasara throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Rothstein drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Semerkhet gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Rothstein is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Semerkhet pulls him back up using the underhooks. Rothstein is trying to drag Semerkhet to the mat but Semerkhet just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Rothstein can't get the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rothstein is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Semerkhet pulls guard effortlessly. Rothstein wants to pass the guard but Semerkhet is keeping the position. Rothstein is working hard here to advance position. Semerkhet looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rothstein looking to improve position, pressing down on Semerkhet's thigh with his hand. Semerkhet seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Rothstein paying attention? Apparently not! #R1# Hopkins throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Rothstein on the side of the head. Hopkins fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Rothstein has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Rothstein feints a jab promting Hopkins to slip. Rothstein then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hopkins slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Rothstein lands with a big left! Hopkins is wobbled badly! Rothstein comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Hopkins to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

#R1# A head kick misses from Rothstein. Rothstein throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Ishii looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger. Sam Rothstein seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ishii dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rothstein. That did some damage! Rothstein tries to clinch but Ishii is having none of it. Ishii was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. We've been informed that Rothstein has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Ishii wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Rothstein. Ishii shrugs it off though. Ishii lands a jab to the head.
Rothstein keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ishii. Rothstein tries to counter with a clinch but Ishii shakes him off and moves away. Rothstein throws a sloppy head kick and Ishii moves out of range easily. That kick from Ishii tenderised Rothstein's leg. Rothstein is trying to keep his angry face on. Rothstein ducks under a wild hook from Ishii. Ishii throws a shot to the body.
Ishii throws out a loose jab but Rothstein uses good head movement to avoid it. Rothstein wants to counter with a clinch but Ishii pushes him away. This has been an exciting period of action! Rothstein connects with a single shot there. Rothstein throws a head kick but Ishii moves out of range.
Nice jab there from Ishii. Ishii tries to score with a low kick but Rothstein moves his leg out of the way. Rothstein looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Ishii paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Kazunori Ishii is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Rothstein swings for the body but Ishii moves out of range.
Ishii checks a low kick from Rothstein. Ishii stuffs the takedown attempt from Rothstein. Rothstein gets slowly back to his feet. Ishii misses with a looping right. Ishii looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Rothstein throws a leg kick enabling Ishii to counter with a crisp jab. Wooooo! Ishii shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Rothstein avoids a punch combination nicely.
Rothstein works over Ishii's head and body with a nice combination. Ishii connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rothstein's hands. Ishii just misses with a punch to the body.
Ishii takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Ishii lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Rothstein throws a sloppy head kick and Ishii moves out of range easily. Nice body punch from Rothstein. Rothstein tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ishii manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.#T3# Rothstein checks a leg kick nicely. Rothstein tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ishii swats him away and circles back towards the center. Ishii connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Rothstein! He's out on his feet! Ishii rushes in and drops Rothstein with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
