Fuentes is a Mexican born in Juarez currently living in New York. Prior to starting his MMA training, Fuentes was a Golden Gloves boxer with several low-level professional bouts. Upon the advice of his friend Marcos Batista, Fuentes decided to join MMA and began training the other aspects of his game. He wants to put Mexico on the MMA map and eventually dreams of returning and starting his own gym in Juarez for other poor kids like he was before.
