Stahl shoots in for a double leg but Kuuqui sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Stahl misses with a takedown #CL# and Kuuqui counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kuuqui. Kuuqui is working for takedown but Stahl is calmly controlling the position for now. Kuuqui stalling in the clinch.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stahl can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. This has been an exciting period of action!#SUB# Kuuqui looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stahl forces his way into half guard. Stahl is keen to just control but Kuuqui is a slippery customer. Stahl working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. #SUB2# Stahl seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Kuuqui is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.#REVR##SUB2# Stahl has hold of the far side arm. The fight stays on the outside here - Packalen looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Packalen fails in his attempt to clinch. Packalen connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. It seemed like Hovimaki was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Hovimaki slips a jab from Ozolinsh. Ozolinsh throws a head kick but Hovimaki moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hovimaki! But no joy. Ozolinsh thows a leg kick but Hovimaki checks it and Hovimaki counters with a nice body shot. Packalen dives in for a single leg takedown but Kaalipaa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. A head kick from Kaalipaa lands but Packalen takes it in his stride. Packalen blocks a head kick by Kaalipaa.

Jenkins tries to counter with a takedown but Stahl is quick to defend against it. Nice takedown defense from Jenkins. No joy for Stahl on that attempt. Voldet Jenkins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magnus Stahl. Stahl misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Stahl shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jenkins but Jenkins pushes him off and we're back to square one. Stahl tries to clinch but Jenkins moves away #TD# and Jenkins counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Stahl! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jenkins landing a few strikes. Stahl is trying to stand back up. This has been an exciting period of action! Hovimaki is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, McSmokesalot asserts his dominance and retains side control. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hovimaki can do anything to dispel that myth.#SUB# McSmokesalot is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hovimaki is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. McSmokesalot tries to score with some ground and pound. Hovimaki controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

We've been hearing good reports from Sigorsson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Ponens working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Sigorsson's head. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Ponens is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Ponens told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
