We've been informed that Creighton has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. #R1# Anthony with a lazy takedown attempt enabling Syder to counter with a crisp jab. Anthony doesn't succeed with the takedown and Syder counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Anthony darts in trying to clinch and Syder counters with a nice uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Anthony misses with a body shot
and Syder counters with a huge left! Anthony is in big trouble! He's backing up but Syder isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Anthony from any more damage. A dominating finish by Syder!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Justin Syder! Justin Syder retains his bantamweight title! Justin Syder decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

Perez half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Martinez tries to clinch but Perez moves out of range. Nice sprawl there from Perez as Martinez shoots in. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Martinez avoids a punch combination nicely.

Grena misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Nice uppercut lands for Armstrong. That snapped Sykes's head back.
Armstrong scores with a jab to the jaw. Sykes throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Armstrong lands an overhand right. Sykes takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Sykes jabs Armstrong right on the nose. Armstrong blinks but takes it well.#CUT2# It looks like Arnie Armstrong has been cut. Armstrong motions for Sykes to come forward. Armstrong throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. That kick from Armstrong tenderised Sykes's leg. Sykes is trying to keep his angry face on. Sykes throws a lazy right hand but Armstrong sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Armstrong cracks a nice hook into Sykes's ribs. This has been an exciting period of action! #R1# Nice cross by Neal. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Neal. Early tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Neal tries to close the distance and clinch but Early swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Early changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Early stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Early wants it to stay on the feet. Early feints the counter takedown. Jab from Neal. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Neal tries for a takedown but Early sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mariano Neal. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck with that takedown attempt from Neal. Mariano Neal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#T1# Neal smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Neal cracks Early with an open hand slap.
