Darmala has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Isomaha after a bit of a struggle. Darmala is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Isomaha is keeping busy. Isomaha gets underhooks to prevent Darmala's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Khagatai Darmala. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Isomaha is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Darmala tries to pull guard but Isomaha forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Darmala tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

#R1# Arias slips a straight right by Quinn. Nice body punch from Quinn. Arias bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Quinn's head. Arias swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Quinn counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. A lazy left from Arias finds it's target. Quinn misses with a right hand and Arias counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Arias lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Quinn circles away quickly and effectively. Ace Arias seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arias plants his feet and throws a devastating head kick! It connects square on Quinn's ear and has knocked him out cold! No need for a count here as the referee immediately tends to a stricken Quinn, crumpled in the corner! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Ace Arias! Ace Arias decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.

Darmala wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Matthews gets slowly back to his feet. Darmala moves in looking to clinch but Matthews pushes him off.#TD2# Darmala shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Matthews manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Darmala passes Matthews's left leg - he's now in half guard. Darmala is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Nicks throws a body punch but Ames moves out of range. #TD2# Ames scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Nicks bucks up and tries to throw Ames off but instead Ames has got his back! Ames is looking to control Nicks but Nicks is wriggling around and keeping busy. Nicks covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.

Nicks lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Michal closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. A nice inside leg kick there by Michal. That's going to slow Nicks down. Michal's jab looks to have found its range, popping Nicks under the eye. Nicks takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Michal throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Nicks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Michal misses the shot to the body. Michal tries to land a front kick but Nicks steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Michal throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nicks avoids the head kick by Michal.
Nicks gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Michal. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nicks scores with a jab to the head.

Leroy tries to clinch up. Vros takes a swing at Leroy's ribcage but misses. Leroy ducks under a wild hook from Vros. Leroy throws a fast counter high kick but Vros manages to duck under it in time. Vros pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Leroy throws a wild combination but nothing lands. A quick step to the side and Vros tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Leroy tries to clinch up but Vros circles away and keeps his distance. As Leroy looks to move away, Vros throws a big counter combo but Leroy just gets out of the way. Vros comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Vros lands a nice hook to Leroy's body. Leroy takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Leroy looks winded! Vros digs a good body shot into Leroy's ribs. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A punch lands to the side of Leroy 's head but he takes it in his stride.
