Thompson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. It looked like Vovchanchyn was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Vovchanchyn tries a head kick but it misses.

Vovchanchyn is looking for a counter combo. Some bone on bone action there as Thompson checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one. He's pushed Thompson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Thompson moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

I was talking to Da's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Moa is trying to pull guard but Da turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Moa is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Da pulls him back up using the underhooks. Gege Da has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Moa. Moa fails to pull guard.

Cleveland is thwarting Morin's attempts to control the position. Cleveland seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Morin avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cleveland. #T1# Well, if Cleveland is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. #R1# Kamon tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Borjigin swivels and escapes. Borjigin feints a counter leg kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Kamon looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Borjigin throws a leg kick which misses Kamon's front leg but catches the back leg as Kamon tries to avoid it. Borjigin has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Kamon is landing a low percentage of strikes. A solid body kick from Borjigin. Kamon takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Kamon misses with a takedown and Borjigin counters with a thumping low kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kamon looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kulap Kamon. Borjigin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kamon. That did some damage! Borjigin fakes the leg kick and cracks Kamon in the body. Khunbish Borjigin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A nice inside leg kick there by Borjigin. That's going to slow Kamon down. Kamon seems to have got his legs back now. Borjigin looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
