The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rondou has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Rondou has closed the distance and engaged Castle in a clinch.
Rondou's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Castle looking to stall.
Castle lands an elbow inside.
It looks like Chival Rondou has been cut. Castle misses with an elbow over the top. Castle tries to circle away but Rondou has him pinned against the cage. Rondou using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Castle is trying to push Rondou away but Rondou has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Castle is trying to break the clinch but Rondou is controlling him. Castle pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Rondou could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Rondou avoids the head kick by Castle.

Castle rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rondou moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Rondou appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Castle throws a sloppy head kick and Rondou moves out of range easily. A little feinted left hand from Rondou on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Castle throws a shot to the body.
Castle throws a right and a left that both miss. Castle tries to close the distance and clinch but Rondou swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A telegraphed right hand from Rondou misses the target. Castle misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rondou.

Rondou tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Castle takes a shot right to the bread basket.

Castle ducks under a wild hook from Rondou. Rondou is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Castle. Castle appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick. Rondou darts in and clinches Castle up against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Castle breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rondou takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Castle is looking to slow Rondou down with leg kicks. Rondou tries to land a front kick but Castle steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Rondou throws a body shot but no joy. Rondou walks into a left hand. Some wild striking there from Rondou.

Castle wants to clinch up but Rondou keeps it at a distance. Rondou circles away from the clinch attempt and Rondou cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Castle closes the distance and clinches. Rondou prevents Castle from breaking the clinch. Castle blocks an uppercut.

Rondou appears to be looking for a big counter. Castle throws a nice looking combination but Rondou bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Rondou is looking to counter punch. Rondou thuds his shin into the meat of Castle's side. A combination from Castle does no damage. Castle is breathing heavily.

Rondou throws up his legs and catches Castle in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Castle tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Rondou! That came out of nowhere!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Epstein cracks Jones with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Jones misses with a takedown and Jones takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Epstein definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Jones is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Jones connects with a solid leg kick. Epstein with a jab. Jones tries to land a leg kick but Epstein saw it coming and moves away.
Epstein went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Jones with a poor takedown and Epstein counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Epstein lands with a cross. Epstein lunges at Jones with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jones's hand. Jones throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Epstein counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Jones thinking. Epstein fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Jones on the side of the head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Jones tries to advance to mount but can't. Jones is looking to take a break and control but Epstein is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Epstein knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground. Epstein is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now. Jones wants to control but Epstein is keeping him busy. Jones controlling the position from side mount.

Jones has his takedown stuffed and Epstein counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A low kick from Jones misses letting Epstein counter with a right hand. Jones takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jab by Epstein. Epstein lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jones is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Epstein is trying to control the position from the bottom.
