Faiz looks winded! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!#TD# Vasquez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Faiz looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Vasquez working the body and head with strikes. #T2# Vasquez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Faiz's shoulder. That is not cool. Vasquez landing a few strikes. Vasquez is chipping away with strikes.

Faiz throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.#TD# Vasquez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Vasquez thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Faiz keeping control of the position. Faiz wants to improve his position but Vasquez is controlling well.
Faiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vasquez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#T4##SU# Vasquez decides to return to a standing position. Faiz throws the kick towards the body but Vasquez avoids it.#TD# Vasquez shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Faiz's guard. Vasquez wants to get up but he can't break Faiz's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Faiz preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. #SU# Vasquez gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. #TD2# Faiz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Vasquez is pulling down on Faiz's head. It's preventing any offense from Faiz, at least for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vasquez is on top in guard.

Hunter Vasquez dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! #R2# Vasquez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Faiz defends well and Vasquez ends up having to push Faiz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Faiz lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Vasquez backs up against the cage.
#CUT2# It looks like Hunter Vasquez has been cut. Faiz throws a one two combo.
#ROC2# Vasquez is rocked!#TD2# Faiz shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Vasquez is on queer street and Faiz is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!

#R1##TD2# Tyson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Faiz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Tyson is in Faiz's guard.#ES# The fighters are working up against the cage. Faiz manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.#TD# Faiz pulls guard successfully.
#SUB# Faiz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tyson defends it easily. Faiz is adopting a defensive guard. Tyson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Faiz has his hands on Tyson's head, controlling the position. #T1##SUB2# Tyson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Faiz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tyson has Faiz in his guard.#REVR# Faiz slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. #T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Faiz pushes down on Tyson's leg and manages to get into half guard. Faiz will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
#SUB# Faiz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tyson is trying to stand back up but Faiz is controlling him

Faiz stalling. #SUB# Tyson is kicking away at Faiz from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Faiz grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Tyson trying to push Faiz off... Tyson taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
