Jester controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Jester passes Maddox's right leg, so he's now in half guard. #SUB# Maddox looking for submissions off his back.#SUB2# Jester is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Shaffer takes a shot right to the bread basket. Bettencourt darts in looking for a takedown but Shaffer gets double underhooks and turns Bettencourt into the cage. Bettencourt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shaffer sprawls well. Shaffer wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bettencourt gets slowly back to his feet. Dustin Shaffer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ruben Bettencourt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shaffer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bettencourt swats him away and circles back towards the center. Bettencourt throws a right hand that Shaffer ducks under and follows up with a left that Shaffer also avoids with ease. Pridham really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maddox. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.#ES2# Pridham pushes Maddox off and gets back to his feet.
Pridham pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Pridham lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Pridham misses with a kick to the body #TD# and Maddox counters with a takedown into side control. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pridham gets back to half guard. Pridham pushes Maddox off but Maddox dives into side control.

Maddox slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.#TD2# Ramos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ramos showed some decent athleticism there. Maddox is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Maddox is refusing to be controlled, as Ramos sits in half guard. #SUB2# Ramos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maddox doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ramos. Maddox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Simon takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
