#R1##TD2# Chalke fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alves to the ground. Chalke is now in Alves's guard. Chalke is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Chalke makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.#SUB# Alves is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Chalke defends well. Chalke scoring with punches to the head and body. #SUB# Alves throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alves wants to sweep but no luck. Alves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chalke controls the pace.#T1# Chalke preventing the sweep. Chalke wants to control from the top but Alves keeps moving. Chalke is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Chalke landing some decent shots from guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Chalke trying to control the position from guard on top but Alves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Chalke looking to sit in guard and control but Alves gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. #REVR# Alves sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Chalke's guard. #T2# Alves seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Chalke does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Chalke has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Gorilla Warfare MMA. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Alves tries to stand and escape but Chalke actually recovers to full guard. Alves looking to pass the guard. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Carlos Alves. Well Chalke has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. The defeated Carlos Alves had this to say: 'Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Wrestling and life are that way. So im going To train harder for the next time'.

He'll be looking to tighten that up but Carver can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Carver controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Carver wants to pass the guard but Vicson is keeping the position.#T1# Vicson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.#REVB# Vicson postures up.

Andres Vicson dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Carver throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Carver goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Vicson shoots for a double leg takedown but Carver sprawls well. He's pushed Vicson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Vicson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Carver swivels and escapes. Carver feinted with a counter takedown. Vicson lands with a nice body punch. Carver with a nice cross. Carver lands with an uppercut that bounces Vicson off the cage and back into range.#TD# Carver gets the takedown into side control. #ROC# Vicson is rocked! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Carver looks up at the clock and then as Vicson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Carver smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Vicson is still in real trouble! Can Carver finish him? Carver grinds an elbow into Vicson's temple. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carver lands a strong strike to the head of Vicson. That's dazed him! Carver looking to finish here. Vicson is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Carver lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

#R1##TD2# Vicson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Holson tries to kick Vicson off in order to stand up. Vicson Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Holson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.#SU2# Vicson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. #CL# Holson rushes Vicson and presses him up against the cage. Holson is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Holson connects with a knee to the head.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Holson lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Vicson backwards. Holson manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

#R1##TD2# Alves bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Horton is letting Alves control him for a moment. Alves connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Horton some visible discomfort.
#ROC2# Horton is rocked!#SUB2# Alves has hold of Horton's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Horton tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Alves cranks the arm and Horton screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Horton, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Carlos Alves! Carlos Alves spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Vicson takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Fire working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Fire lands an elbow that stopped Vicson in his tracks for a moment. #CUT# It looks like Andres Vicson has been cut. Fire lands a shoulder strike. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vicson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
