#R1##TD2# Blue bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Blue trying to control the action but Meyers is working from the bottom. Meyers manages to work his way to half guard, despite Blue's best efforts. Meyers regains full guard. Nicely done. Blue trying to control but Meyers is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blue wants to pass the guard but Meyers is keeping the position. Blue trying to control the position from guard on top but Meyers is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blue controls the pace of the fight for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blue pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Meyers is keeping the position for now. #T1# Blue stopping the sweep attempt from Meyers. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Meyers was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. #TD2# Blue shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Blue was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Blue throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. The strikes coming from Blue are missing the target in this wave of attacks. #T4# Blue is looking to take a break and control but Meyers is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Meyers tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Blue wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. You can see the frustration on Meyers's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Meyers is looking to regain half guard here but Blue keeps moving and retains side control. Blue controls the position from side control. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Meyers tries to buck Blue off but Blue is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josh Blue dominated that round. The cut man is working on Lavern Meyers's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. #R2# Blue tries to land a body kick#TD# and Meyers counters with a nice double leg into side control. Blue won't be happy with that. Blue is looking to reverse the position. Meyers working away. Blue is looking to regain half guard here but Meyers keeps moving and retains side control. #SUB# Meyers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Meyers has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Blue! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meyers wants to stand but Blue is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Meyers wants to control the pace but Blue is squirming around nicely. #SU# Meyers stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.#TD# Meyers closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Blue did well to prevent Meyers getting side control.#SU# Meyers stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. A head kick by Blue misses #CL# and Meyers counters by clinching up. #BC2# Blue breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Meyers wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blue keeps working. Blue is trying to control Meyers's posture but Meyers avoids it. #SUB# Meyers looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Blue regains half guard. Lavern Meyers overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Meyers looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Still in half guard, Meyers seems content to control. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Meyers connects with a nice short shot to Blue's temple. #SUB# Meyers is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Blue doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Meyers. #SUB# Meyers is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Blue stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Meyers swivels though and keeps the full guard. Meyers tries to land a sweep but no joy. Meyers has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. #SU2# Blue decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Meyers, up you get! #CL2# Blue closes the distance and clinches.#T2# A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.#TD2# Blue manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Blue is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVB# Meyers is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Blue's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Blue's back!#SUB# Blue defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.

Meyers avoiding Blue 's attempts to control his hands. Blue takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.#SUB# Meyers has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Blue has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
