That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Blake Shaffer.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Shaffer controls the position from side control.
Shaffer lands a nice forearm strike.
Shaffer sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Savage is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaffer's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.#T1##SUB#

Savage is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Savage is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Shaffer couldn't care less - he's delighted!
