#R1##TD# Sampson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.#SUB2# Hiott throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hiott is trying to control the position but Sampson postures up. #SUB2# Hiott looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Sampson passes into side control.
Hiott struggling a bit here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sampson wants to stand but Hiott has his arm trapped. #SUB# Sampson tries for an arm triangle. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hiott looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sampson is one step ahead there. Sampson landing with the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sampson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sampson is trying to keep Hiott in close.

Hall fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Huff leaves Hall with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Ronny Hall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hall shoots in for a takedown but Huff shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Pedro Huff has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. Huff remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Hall managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Huff.
