#R1##TD# Gaines shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Handler's guard. Handler is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Gaines will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Handler is striking off his back. Gaines thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard. Gaines lands strikes from half guard. Handler tries to kick Gaines off but Gaines keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. #SU# Gaines stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gaines stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Gaines wants it to stay on the feet. Gaines thinks about countering with a body kick.#CL# Gaines moves into the clinch.#BC# Gaines breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Handler shoots in but no luck this time. #T1# Gaines circles away from the clinch attempt enabling Gaines to counter with a crisp jab. Handler dives in for a single leg takedown but Gaines sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Gaines appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Kenton Gaines has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chandler Handler. Handler looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. As Handler backs away, Gaines returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.#TD# Gaines scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Handler tries to control but Gaines manages to take his back. Handler tries to escape the position.

#R1# Brooks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. #CL# The fight moves into the clinch position. Benjamin has Brooks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Brooks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Benjamin controlling the action here for a moment.
Brooks is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Benjamin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Brooks on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Benjamin drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brooks gets the underhooks and prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Benjamin prevents Brooks from breaking the clinch. Benjamin tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Brooks wants to control from the top but Benjamin keeps moving. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Benjamin holds on and takes a little breather. Brooks must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Brooks is looking to defend but Benjamin has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Brooks!
