Short is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Turkleton fails with an attempt to clinch.
As Turkleton backs off Short throws a huge counter combo but Turkleton manages to avoid it all. Turkleton tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Short manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Short misses with a straight right. Turkleton closes the distance and clinches up with Short, looking for a takedown. Turkleton pushes Short against the cage but Short circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Judd Short seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Short swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Turkleton. Turkleton shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Short but Short pushes him off and we're back to square one. Short throws out a counter right but Turkleton avoids it with no problem.#TD# Turkleton drives through with a takedown into Short's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. #R1# A leg kick checked by Powell. Powell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Truffaut scores with a body shot.
Powell looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. James Powell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Powell takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Truffaut stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Truffaut wants it to stay on the feet. That kick from Truffaut tenderised Powell's leg. Powell is trying to keep his angry face on.#CL2# Powell closes the distance and pushes Truffaut back into the cage. Truffaut tries to work over Powell's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Truffaut lands a right hand that snaps the head of Powell backwards. Powell has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Truffaut after a bit of a struggle. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leifsson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Leifsson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Rodriquez throws a series of punches but Powell moves out of range. Powell throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Rodriquez appears to be looking for a big counter. Powell avoids the head kick by Rodriquez.
Rodriquez walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Rodriquez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Rodriquez throws a head kick but Powell moves out of range.

Nicholson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. A lull in the action here as Leifsson stalls from top position. Leifsson moves into full mount! Nicholson really is a fat lump. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nicholson flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
