and Yaj counters with a flying knee. Nice. That kick from Yaj tenderised Balisi's leg. Balisi is trying to keep his angry face on. Balisi swings and misses with a shot to the body and Balisi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Yaj throws a body shot but no joy. Yaj throws a body shot but no joy. Balisi throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Yaj sees it coming and avoids it easily. Yaj keeps the fight on the outside. Good leg kick by Yaj there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Aldo tries to clinch enabling Matonen to counter with a crisp jab. Nice uppercut there from Matonen. Aldo tries to clinch but fails miserably and Matonen counters with a straight right hand. Jose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#KD2# Oooh a lovely combination from Matonen sends Aldo down but not out. Matonen dives into side control looking to finish. #CUT2# It looks like Jose Aldo has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Aldo is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Aldo seems a little lost for a moment, as Matonen dominates the positioning. Matonen working away. We've been hearing good reports from Aldo's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.#T1# Aldo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Matonen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Aldo is trying to get back to half guard. Aldo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Matonen is controlling him well. Hetfield lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Putin throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. Putin throws a combination that misses and Hetfield counters with a two punch combo. Horrible takedown attempt by Hetfield or perhaps it was just good defense by Putin, which made it look bad. Hetfield scores with a hook. Putin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hetfield manages to avoid it. Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hetfield!

Hetfield's coach down at Holding Cell was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hetfield's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Hetfield avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Putin connects with a jab. Hetfield lands a nice shot that snaps Putin's head back.

One final crushing shot and Putin lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gravano is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. He has the arm isolated but Gravano is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. #SUB# Alves is trying to get an arm triangle but Gravano is defending well. #SUB# Alves tries for an arm triangle.
