Schmidt looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Evi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Schmidt lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Evi tries to move into range but Schmidt moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Evi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Schmidt is fending him off so far but Evi persists. Nope, Schmidt circles away and we're back to standing. A cross from Schmidt lands. Evi closes the distance and clinches up with Schmidt, looking for a takedown. Evi pushes Schmidt against the cage but Schmidt circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Evi looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jek Evi. That's going to take a lot out of him. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Evi rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schmidt moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Evi darts in looking for a takedown but Schmidt gets double underhooks and turns Evi into the cage. Schmidt misses with a jab, cross combination.
