#R1# Girard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dean tries to avoid it but Girard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dean to the ground. Dean escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Dean scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Dean lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Dean lands with a good body shot. Dean scores with a jab. Girard acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Girard throws a head kick that misses. Girard closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. A left lands for Dean. Girard takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
#ROC2# Girard is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Dean avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Oh Girard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Girard walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from Dean! Oppenhiemer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Oppenhiemer is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. A nice leg kick lands there from Oppenhiemer. Oppenhiemer shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Kuciara counters with a left and a right that stings Oppenhiemer. Kuciara tries to score a power double leg takedown but Oppenhiemer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kuciara somewhat.#TD# Kuciara shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Oppenhiemer's guard. Oppenhiemer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kuciara is stalling in the full guard. Kuciara seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. De La Hoya shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. #ROC# De La Hoya is rocked! Kawaguchi jabs De La Hoya to the body, keeping him at a distance. De La Hoya is still on wobbly legs! Can Kawaguchi finish him? De La Hoya on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. De La Hoya seems to have recovered his senses. De La Hoya looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Morriston keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Girard's head. Girard is pulling down on Morriston 's head. It's preventing any offense from Morriston , at least for the moment. Morriston throwing strikes from guard but Girard blocks nicely. Morriston trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
