Let's hope that Mize has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Patton really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mize feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Well Mize has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

The fighters circling - Steve throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Steve connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Mize throws a head kick that misses
and Steve counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mize avoids the body shot from Steve.
Mize fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Steve swings for the body but Mize moves out of range.
Mize with a lazy takedown attempt
and Steve counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mize thinking.
Steve has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mize.
Mize really is a fat lump.

Steve lands with an overhand left.
Nathan Mize seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steve misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mize is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Steve.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
