Martin leaves White with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.#TD2# White closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Martin did well to prevent White getting side control. Martin works his way to full guard. Good work. Martin looking to hit a scissor sweep but White is one step ahead there. White landing some decent shots from guard. #SUB2# White thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Martin striking off his back but it's not causing White any problems. Martin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Omega connects with a nice short shot to Snook's temple. Omega really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snook. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Omega is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Omega passes to full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Omega raining down hammerfists from mount. Omega controlling his opponent. Snook really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Christopher Martin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Martin with a hook. A punch lands to the side of Bennet 's head but he takes it in his stride.#CL# Martin fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bennet, pushing him back against the cage. Martin lands a hook to the side of the head. Martin blocks an uppercut.
Bennet looks winded! Martin wants to break free but Bennet has control.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bennet has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Bennet is working for takedown but Martin is calmly controlling the position for now. Bennet tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Martin smiles and moves away.
