McDonald tries for a takedown but Maui circles away easily and Maui counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Maui misses the shot to the body. McDonald seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Maui scores with a crisp jab that stopped McDonald in his tracks. McDonald doesn't succeed with the takedown and Maui counters with a straight right hand.#CUT2# It looks like Mac McDonald has been cut. McDonald tries to clinch but Maui is having none of it. Maui is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Maui connects with a body shot. Maui scores with a sloppy right hand. McDonald should have avoided that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McDonald fails in his attempt to clinch. Maui scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.#KD2# Maui drops McDonald with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but McDonald looks back up at him and smiles so Maui waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mac McDonald. That's going to take a lot out of him.#T1# Maui fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. McDonald looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Maui unleashes a big counter combination but McDonald bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Maui connects with a right hand. McDonald shakes it off. Maui moves into range and connects with a jab. Walsh looking for a sweep. Not yet Walsh, not yet. Walsh keeping full guard, as Reynolds tries to pass. #SUB# Walsh is looking for a triangle but Reynolds pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reynolds trying to control but Walsh is working from the bottom. #SUB# Walsh had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Reynolds defends it easily. Reynolds is looking to work some ground and pound but Walsh has wrist control. Reynolds must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Walsh tries to land a sweep but no joy. Walsh is working hard here to advance position.
