Allen tries to get to full guard but McGrath has control of the leg. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Allen is staying active underneath McGrath, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Allen is trying to get back to full guard. McGrath is keen to just control but Allen is a slippery customer. Allen trying to control here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Allen connecting with a few gentle strikes. Allen is looking to improve his position.

Allen went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. McGrath shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. McGrath shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Allen sprawls well. Allen wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McGrath gets slowly back to his feet. Allen is looking for a counter combo. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Allen connects with a nice short shot to McGrath's temple. Allen throwing shots but McGrath is blocking nicely. Allen drops an elbow to the side of McGrath's head. Allen working McGrath over with strikes. Allen landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. McGrath tries to get to full guard but Allen has control of the leg. Allen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks McGrath with a short hammerfist. #R1##TD2# Weber darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Weber wants to pass the guard but Hopper is defending well. Well, if Weber is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#SU2# Weber decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Weber lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hopper tries to clinch and Weber counters with a good low kick that Hopper was not able to check. #TD2# Weber bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.#T1# Weber cracks Hopper with a big elbow. Hopper is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Weber is controlling him well. Hopper is not content to let Weber control the position. Hopper is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
