#R1# Decent striking displayed by Giannis there. Nice uppercut there from Giannis.#TD# Giannis gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Giannis has momentary wrist control but Steele slips an elbow through the middle. Steele will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Steele looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Steele has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Steele has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steele working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Giannis's head.#T1# Steele is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Giannis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steele. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Steele passes Giannis's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Steele is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.#SUB# Steele in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Giannis tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Steele!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Richard Steele!
