Laiho has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hansen after a bit of a struggle. Laiho tries to circle away but Hansen has him pinned against the cage.#BC# Hansen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Laiho tries to clinch but Hansen moves out of range. Hansen went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Arttu Laiho seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A low kick from Laiho misses and Hansen counters with a right hand to the body. #TD2# Laiho closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hansen quickly recovers to half guard. Hansen wants to get back to his feet.

Nice sprawl there from Imum as Montgomery shoots in. Imum fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Simon leaves Matas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Simon is looking for a counter combo. Matas tries to score a power double leg takedown but Simon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Matas somewhat. Simon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Matas looks winded! Matas tries for a takedown but Simon circles away easily and Simon counters with a nice uppercut. Alberto Simon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Thomas controlling the pace for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like Thomas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance...
