#R1##TD# Whitaker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Whitaker showed some decent athleticism there. Honsawaskan is trying to escape back to his feet but Whitaker uses the scramble to pass into side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Honsawaskan can do anything to dispel that myth. Honsawaskan seems a little lost for a moment, as Whitaker dominates the positioning. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Whitaker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Whitaker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Honsawaskan for as long as he can get away with.#SUB# Whitaker has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Campbell takes a swing at Macias's ribcage but misses. #KD2# Campbell drops Macias with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Macias looks back up at him and smiles so Campbell waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

#CL2# Darrow takes the fight into the clinch. #TD2# Macias is fighting off a takedown attempt but Darrow is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Macias to the mat. Macias regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Macias wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Macias tries to land a sweep but no joy. Macias has Darrow pulled in close to control his posture. Darrow postures up in Macias's guard and throws a big left but Macias blocks it. #SUB2# Darrow is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Jones lands a really nice looking cross but Macias seems unphased.

Johnson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.#SUB# Parrish working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Macias throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Macias takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. #CUT2# It looks like Kraig Macias has been cut. A looping hook to the body misses from McGee. Macias does a little dance to reset his feet. Macias throws a big counter combination but McGee scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.#TD2# McGee closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Macias tries to buck McGee off but McGee is having none of it. McGee sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Macias is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
McGee tries to move into full mount but can't pass Macias's legs. A bit of a lull in the action here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGee trying to control the position but Macias is working away. You can see the frustration on Macias's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. McGee has control of an arm but Macias manages to advance to McGee's back!#T1# McGee looking very determined here, making life difficult for Macias.
