Arlen passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Arlen wants to stand up but Hale has a hold of him and won't allow it. #SUB2# Arlen seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Hale is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

#R1# Grimes tries for a takedown but Kjoll sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Grimes avoids the body shot from Kjoll.
A punch combination from Grimes misses. Kjoll tries to clinch up and Grimes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. #TD2# Kjoll drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grimes tries to improve position but can't. Grimes might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Grimes can't do much from the bottom here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kjoll slows the pace down. Grimes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kjoll wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Grimes tries to escape but Kjoll is in control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.#T1# Kjoll controls the position from side control. Taylor is taking a breather. Hale says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.#SU2# Taylor decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Taylor wants to clinch up but Hale keeps it at a distance. Hale plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hale misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Ellison takes a shot right to the bread basket. Byrgen tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. #TD2# Byrgen shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ellison napping and manages to drive through into side control! Byrgen is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Ellison parries the strikes from Byrgen easily there. Byrgen is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Ellison to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. You can see the frustration on Ellison's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.#SUB2# Byrgen thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. #T1# Byrgen controls the position. Ellison prevents Byrgen from moving into mount. The ground and pound from Byrgen seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Ellison wants to control but Byrgen postures up. Ellison is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Byrgen happy to just control the position for now. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jacques Ellison. Well Byrgen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Hale keeping moving, preventing Dirko from controlling successfully. #SUB# Hale has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dirko can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Hale is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. #REVR# Dirko wants to control the action here but instead Hale manages to pass to full mount! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hale raining down hammerfists from mount.#CUT# It looks like Rob Dirko has been cut. Dirko is looking to improve his position but Hale isn't that keen on the idea. Hale landing shots from mount. #T1# Hale is landing with some decent strikes but Dirko is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Hale has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Dirko's face.

Assadi in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Hale sneaks back into half guard. Hale is not content to let Assadi control the position. Assadi not landing any meaningful shots this time. Assadi is looking to take a break and control but Hale is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Assadi is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Hale is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
