Nye takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Nice shot lands for Nye. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pealike pounces like a tiger and cracks Nye with a vicious hook! Nye is down but not out! Pealike follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Kari Petursson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kari Petursson with a body punch. A glancing blow. Flatfoot keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kari Petursson. Flatfoot has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Kari Petursson finds it's way round the side to connect with Flatfoot's head. Kari Petursson connects with a nice looking jab.

Pealike looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Griffin is badly hurt! Chester pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Griffin tries desperately to hold on but Chester is relentless in his assault! As Griffin receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Chester away and this one is in the books!

#R1# Nye wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Bash misses with a takedown attempt and Nye counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Nye lands a head shot. A chopping leg kick lands by Nye. Bash should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Nye throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Bash stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Bash has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Bash there as he acknowledges the shot.#TD# Nye closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bash quickly recovers to half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nye seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. Nye is nestled in close to Bash, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.#SUB2# Bash looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Nye perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bash can do anything to dispel that myth. Nye looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bash with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Nye looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Griffin scores with a punch to the head. Suchet looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Matthew Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Griffin thuds his right hand into Suchet's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Suchet on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Suchet with a poor takedown and Griffin counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Griffin moves into range and connects with a jab. Griffin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Griffin's coach down at Gumburcules Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Griffin's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Dawson looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Nye wants to clinch but Dawson slips to the side and Dawson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Nye is looking to clinch but Dawson is avoiding it.
Nye smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Nye throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nye throws out a loose jab but Dawson uses good head movement to avoid it. Dawson throws out a counter right but Nye avoids it with no problem. Nye displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Dawson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Nye throws a lazy uppercut
