#R1##TD# Monteiro gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Valentine to score an easy takedown into full guard. Monteiro wants to stand and escape but Valentine is having none of it. Valentine loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Monteiro keeping moving, preventing Valentine from controlling successfully. Monteiro looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valentine is one step ahead there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.#REF3# The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.#T1# Monteiro shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Valentine eats them both and turns towards Monteiro to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Valentine takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Monteiro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Valentine stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.#CL# Valentine moves into the clinch successfully.

Good exchange - Monteiro coming out on top. Valentine takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.#ROC2# Valentine is rocked! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Monteiro lands a big uppercut and this one is all over! His foe lies motionless on the canvas - a massive one punch knockout!

Valentine shoots for a double leg takedown but Unger sprawls well. He's pushed Valentine's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Loyd Valentine. That's going to take a lot out of him. Unger fails to land with a series of punches.
