#R1# The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Masvidal is looking to clinch but Hickling is avoiding it.
Hickling changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Masvidal tries to avoid it but Hickling manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Masvidal to the ground. Masvidal escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. #CL# Hickling moves into range and clinches up with Masvidal.#BC# Hickling escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
The fight stays on the outside here - Masvidal looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Hickling looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Masvidal lunges at Hickling with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hickling's hand. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hickling darts in looking for a takedown but Masvidal gets double underhooks and turns Hickling into the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kyle Hickling. That's going to take a lot out of him. Masvidal misses with a straight left. Hickling fails with a takedown attempt. #T1# Hickling doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.#CL# Hickling moves into the clinch. Masvidal can't fight it off and eventually Hickling manages to take the fight to the floor. Masvidal looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Masvidal is looking to stand up but Hickling isn't so interested in that idea. Masvidal is pulling down on Hickling's head. It's preventing any offense from Hickling, at least for the moment. Masvidal tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hickling really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.#SU# Masvidal is working an open guard so Hickling takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.#T2# Hickling uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Masvidal. Hickling tries to clinch up but Masvidal circles away and keeps his distance. Hickling changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Masvidal rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hickling moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Hickling shoots in looking for a takedown but Masvidal manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hickling's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Masvidal fails to land with a series of punches.
Hickling ducks under a wild hook from Masvidal. Masvidal misses with an uppercut. Masvidal closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Zion Masvidal is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Masvidal misses with an uppercut. Hickling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Masvidal manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. A little jabbing left from Masvidal on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Masvidal swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Hickling lands a nice leg kick that just misses Masvidal's sensitive parts. Masvidal cracks Hickling with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Hickling scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Masvidal doesn't seem bothered though. Hickling moves away from the strike by Masvidal. Hickling slips a jab from Masvidal. Hickling staying out of range there. Hickling seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.#T4# Masvidal connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Hickling doesn't succeed with the takedown and Masvidal connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. The crowd cheers as Masvidal lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hickling doesn't seem phased though. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Zion Masvidal showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.#R3# Masvidal wants to clinch up but Hickling keeps it at a distance. Hickling will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Masvidal is looking to stand up but Hickling won't let him. Masvidal stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hickling swivels though and keeps the full guard. Masvidal looking to control the position here, rather than advance. #SUB# Masvidal avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Masvidal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Masvidal is trying to stand back up but Hickling is controlling him

Masvidal regains full guard. Nicely done. Masvidal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hickling wants to control from the top but Masvidal keeps moving. Masvidal wants to improve his position but instead Hickling has moved into half guard.

Come on you two, sort yourselves out!#SUB# Hickling is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Masvidal is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kyle Hickling has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! You can see the frustration on Masvidal's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kyle Hickling. I think Masvidal has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Hickling fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Scotch manages to avoid it.#TD# Hickling changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Scotch looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Hickling working the ground and pound. A lull in the action here as Hickling stalls from top position. Hickling lands a decent elbow from side control. Hickling advances nicely into full mount. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hickling landing strikes, looking to finish! Hickling content just to control the position here. #T1##SUB# Scotch reaches up to try and pull Hickling in and control his posture, but Hickling latches on to an arm and pivots quickly for an armbar! Scotch taps out and this one is all over!

Thomas scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wizard in his tracks. Thomas thuds a left hand into Wizard's body. A combination from Thomas does no damage. And Wizard tries to counter it with a takedown but Thomas pushes his down on his head and steps out. Wizard dives in for a single leg takedown but Thomas sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Wizard shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Thomas as he avoids it easily. Thomas appears to be looking for a big counter. Thomas misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mario Thomas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#CL2# Wizard has closed the distance and engaged Thomas in a clinch.
Thomas is pressed up against the cage. Wizard has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thomas down to the mat. Thomas avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Mario Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Goiblin Wizard. Wizard shoots in for a takedown. They are putting on a show! Thomas looks to land a combination. Thomas lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Thomas darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Wizard darts in looking for a takedown but Thomas gets double underhooks and turns Wizard into the cage. Thomas lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Thomas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Thomas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Thomas lands with a nice combination. Wizard backs away looking to recover. Wizard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown letting Thomas counter with a right hand. Thomas throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
