As Lykmekov looks to move away, Clark throws a big counter combo but Lykmekov just gets out of the way.#CL2# Lykmekov clinches up with Clark and pushes him back against the cage. Clark looking to throw knees to the head but Lykmekov is blocking nicely.

#R1# Rolla shoots in for a takedown but Khan shows good takedown defense. Rolla doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Rolla on the wrong end of a nice hook. Rio Rolla seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Khan lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Rolla shoots and misses and Khan counters with a nice body shot. Nice straight punches there by Khan. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Khan.#CUT#It looks like Rio Rolla has been cut. Khan throws a leg kick that misses. Khan ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Khan works over Rolla's head and body with a nice combination. Rolla with a lazy takedown attempt and Khan counters with an outside leg kick.
Genghis Khan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rio Rolla. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Rolla takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Khan tests Rolla's chin there with a solid looking shot. Khan slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Khan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at UnderDawg Fight Club in the buildup to the fight. Khan scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rolla doesn't seem bothered though. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Rolla is defended easily by Khan. Khan is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Khan finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mendoza swings away with a body shot that misses

We've been informed that Mendoza has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. McSlide keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Clark. McSlide takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
