We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Somwan is refusing to be controlled, as Chacon sits in half guard.
Somwan has his hands clasped together around Chacon's back. He's all about the action.

Chacon is looking for a kimura but Somwan is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chacon to get the leverage.

Somwan connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Chacon covering up! Somwan comes in with a big uppercut and Chacon goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.

Chinawoot Somwan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Chacon has momentary wrist control but Silva slips an elbow through the middle.
Chacon is still in real trouble! Can Silva finish him?
Silva loads up on a big left hand. Chacon felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Silva looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Chacon can't hide his disappointment, as Silva celebrates the victory.

Well Rylie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Plutten lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Chacon backwards.
