Piecemaker lands a good knee to the midsection. Mclean won't want to take too many of those. Piecemaker is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Piecemaker missing with knees to the body.

Piecemaker passes Mclean's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Piecemaker is keen to just control but Mclean is a slippery customer.#SUB2# Piecemaker is working for a kimura but Mclean is defending it quite comfortably.

#R1# The fighters circle momentarily. Wright darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Wright cracks MacDiarmid with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. MacDiarmid throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wright. MacDiarmid needs to keep his hands up - Wright had a free shot at his head there. Nice cross by Wright. Wright avoids a punch combination nicely.

A punch lands to the side of MacDiarmid 's head but he takes it in his stride. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wright lands a really nice looking cross but MacDiarmid seems unphased.

MacDiarmid walks into a stiff left hand from Wright. Wright throws a nice outside leg kick. Wright is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!
