#R1# Habiba shoots in but no luck this time. Kovarov throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Habiba wants to clinch.#CL# Habiba closes the distance and pushes Kovarov back into the ropes. Habiba trying to stall but Kovarov improves his position.
Kovarov is trying to break free. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Habiba throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kovarov blocks it with crossed arms. Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Kovarov obliges. Habiba is trying to push Kovarov away but Kovarov has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere. Habiba wants to stall.
Habiba pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes. I was talking to Habiba's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.#T1# Habiba is looking to control Kovarov's arms but Kovarov gets an underhook and turns him. Now Habiba has his back to the ropes. Nice body punch from Kovarov - that landed with a thud.
#TD2# Kovarov manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kovarov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Habiba is one step ahead there. Habiba has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.#SUB2# Kovarov is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. #R1# Habiba throws a body punch but Page moves out of range. Habiba tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Page was well out of range. Poor timing from Habiba. Habiba tries to bum rush Page with a series of wild strikes but Page uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Habiba waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Page. Habiba has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Page finds it's way round the side to connect with Habiba's head. Page displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Habiba. Habiba tries to bum rush Page with a series of wild strikes but Page uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Habiba gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. No luck for Habiba with that takedown attempt. Page walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Habiba drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Page swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Habiba's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

#CL# Stalin moves into the clinch. Montoya goes for a takedown in the clinch but Stalin prevents it.
Montoya tries to score a body lock takedown but Stalin shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Joe Stalin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Montoya.#TD# Stalin has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Montoya regains guard immediately. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Stalin throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Montoya works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stalin throws a big elbow that misses. Stalin trying to control the position from guard on top but Montoya is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. #T1##SU# Montoya is working an open guard so Stalin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.#TD# Stalin drives through with a takedown into guard. #ES2# Montoya is scooting his butt against the ropes and has managed to get back to his feet. Stalin presses him back against the ropes, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Montoya tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. #TD# Stalin wants the takedown. Montoya is fighting it off but Stalin persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Montoya's guard against the ropes.#ES2# Montoya wriggles free and stands up. Montoya looks winded! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!#TD# Stalin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Montoya was covering up waiting for the punch and Stalin finishes the takedown easily into guard. Stalin trying to control but Montoya is working from the bottom. #T2# Stalin passes easily into side control. Nice work. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.#SUB# Stalin has hold of Montoya's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Montoya tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Stalin cranks the arm and Montoya screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Montoya, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Joe Stalin! A determined Joe Stalin didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it! Mark Montoya spoke after the fight, saying 'The beast is gonna come back stronger!'.

Pingol lands a right hand from hell, dropping Fields. Pingol pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Habiba avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Habiba working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ross. Ross content to stall in guard here. Habiba is looking to sweep but instead, Ross has passed into half guard.

Randolph swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oh Randolph is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pingol lands a big right hook! Randolph looks hurt but is still standing! Pingol lands a left jab and another right hook! This time Randolph falls down and Pingol dives in with a huge hammer fist! Randolph's eyes roll back! The referee calls for the bell and Pingol runs up the cage to celebrate with his fans!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pingol throws the left hand but Sanchez avoids the punch easily.
