Cruz is looking to clinch.
Pearson goes for a double leg but Cruz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cruz continues to drive forward.
Cruz shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pearson sprawls well. Pearson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Cruz gets slowly back to his feet.

Cruz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pearson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Cruz stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cruz wants it to stay on the feet.
Pearson tries for a takedown but Cruz sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
